Ok for the money, March 9, 2013

One of the questions that I had before ordering it, was if it could hold my 10 long guns. I took the chance, and received the package in a few days. I knew I was in for a headache once I had seen the size of the box in came in. I’d consider myself a master at putting together baby cribs, furniture, and whatever ever else you can assemble with an allan wrench.
I laughed at the poor guy who said it took him 4 hours to put the thing together. Then I realized he was actually pretty lucky. It’s been said before that the instructions make no sense, if you read the other reviews. That’s exactly it, they don’t. The descriptions and pictures are not detailed enough, as it took me 3 or 4 times of putting it together and taking apart. It took me about an hour or so to figure out if the back panels were flipped around or not. After I figured that out, then it was the right and left panels that were mixed up. After finally figuring it out, it was put together…and it didn’t have a set of keys anywhere in the box. By that time, customer service was closed. I really wouldn’t trust that lock anyways, so i plan on bolting a latch to the doors and using a heavy duty key lock.
The cabinet is good at keeping the kids out, it’s not a safe so don’t expect it to be. If your a frequent mover, as I was in the military and was getting orders, then it’s a good idea to get this. You don’t want to be lugging around a safe from house to house, or God forbid up and down an apartment.
Can you really fit 16 guns? Maybe if they were all single shot .410’s, or 10/22’s without scopes. You’ll struggle putting a few with pistol grips in. I did manage to make all of mine fit, with 8 on one side and my 2 tac rifles on the smaller left side. The right side, which is the main compartment holds a single shot shotgun, a bolt action 270 w/ scope, a bolt 308 w/ scope, a bolt 30-06 w/scope, a moss 500, an over/under, a rem 1100, and a 10/22 w/ scope and bull barrel. And that’s about max capacity. You can fit about 3 m4’s, or maybe at most 5 smaller guns w/out scopes or pistol grips.

    Thoroughly Disappointed, December 29, 2013

For the price, I wasn’t expecting too much. The quality of steal was about what I expected…and the overall appearance was good. However, the hardware to assemble the cabinet was cheap and nearly useless. The instructions were pathetic! They left out the most important parts of assembly. And, once you’ve installed some of these major parts, they cannot be removed. My cabinet is not assembled correctly (and therefore cannot be used to capacity) and, cannot now be reassembled.

If the manufacturer would re-write the assembly instructions this would be a great purchase. But, I DO NOT recommend this product, no matter how good you are at assembly. I own a manufacturing company and build things from scratch every day. (My guess is that the instructions were written by someone in China who does not have a very good grasp on the English Language. I could have written those instructions better in my sleep.)

This was a great price, and you get what you pay for. It’s functional, but the locking mechanism is definitely on the cheap side. Anyone with a screwdriver can bust into it pretty easily. It works for us, but if you’re really looking to secure your guns, I wouldn’t recommend this cabinet.
