Don’t let the name fool you – this Fly Fishing Backpack and Vest Combo has many, many uses. My boyfriend and I are both avid outdoorsmen – fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. I originally thought this vest would be perfect for his fishing trips. It has plenty of pockets for storing a lot of gear and keeping it protected. It is not overly bulky or heavy. And, the design of the straps provides added support. But it is also a great “go-to” vest for hunting.

This is also the perfect vest for when I go hiking with my two dogs. The straps adjust to make it a good fit for me too. The front pockets are perfect to hold both my camera and my water bottle, while still making them easily accessible. And if I need to tie my shoe, I just clip my dog’s leashes to the D-rings on the front to free up my hands. Overall, I am very happy with the usage we will get from this vest.

It is an excellent product, just what I needed. I love fishing and this product has much space to put everything I need.
I used to use a backpack, but it was not adequate or comfortable to use.
because if you use a backpack you have to take it off to get your things. but with Fly Fishing Vest Combo Backpack you have the front pockets that are very useful.
also it is made of highly durable material and has a good fit.

I know it is very subjective but this is exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t expect much for the price but after I received it this blows away any $130 vest you might find at Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop. I know many people say that too many pockets will make you carry too much stuff but to me it has so many options to customize this to what you want. well constructed reinforced seams and more loops and straps then you could imagine. The backpack area is also padded so if you carry something rigid in the backpack area it is not going to dig into your back. Really this has more of a hiking backpack look to it. I have it outfitted on the back with my fly rod case on one side my net on the other side my waders in the backpack area and all my fly fishing equipment in the front pockets with room to spare. It even has several inside pockets that I have yet to fill.

But in order to have so many pockets you have to give on something and that would be ventilation. It has straps to adjust on the shoulders as well as on your sides and is a very nice fitting vest and I weigh 230 pounds but it feels like a jacket as in you get warm from it.

If there were to be only one thing I could complain about it would be that the shoulder adjustments when I pick up the vest loosen all the way to the stops, so every time I grab the vest I need to crank on the shoulder adjustment straps to get it back to snug again. I just tried a work around which is placing the plastic brackets underneath some of the material on the shoulders and it seems to be working good so far.

All I can tell you is when you put this on and look in the mirror it looks more like a $250 fly vest not a $59 fly vest.
